Boned Bustle slips are terrific for lifting the back of the dress just enough. The slip shown is under both of these gowns. The Blue stripe is made out of a light weight cotton. The black is made of Chinese Silk and satin. The back of the black dress has 7 ruffles attached to back panel. And it is HEAVY. Note that the one shown is a triple boned nylon bustle and holds them both up very well. These slips are made of a nice crisp cotton blend . The boning is completely washable, but they can also be removed for washing and then easily slipped back into place.

The waist band can be elastic or draw string. The back ruffle makes for a smoother line down the back. The slip can also be made to fit a straight front gown. They are easy to sit down in, and hold their shape when you stand up. The bustle ties in the back behind your fanny. If you remove boning, slip may be worn straight under any gown. The back ruffle is optional. Please allow 5 days to 2 weeks for delivery, depending on how backed up I am.

Bustle Dresses

* Approximation of what you will need.

7 yds for the bodice, and bustle back. (Includes ruffle for bottom of skirt) Add 2 more yds if fabric is less than 45" wide or Bust is 41 and above.

5 yds for the skirt add 2 yds of same material for same fabric ruffle.

20 to 25 yds flat lace, or 15 yds pre-ruffled lace, 2" to 4" works well.

15 yds trim min.

8-10 buttons

1 spool thread for each color

4 yds or lining: The unbleached muslin works well. (Also works good for the top part of the skirt. (I provide that)

Elastic: I provide that.

Ties: I provide that.

Bias Tape: I provide that.

You don't have to have lace or trim. Design it the way you want. If you want extra gathered lace, or more trim, send it along.

Please allow 4 weeks for delivery. I also carry a variety of lace.

Just wanted you to know my bustle slip arrived Thursday and it is fabulous, fabulous, fabulous.

Waist seems to be a bit big, but not because you didn't make the waist according to my measurements.

I think all the "stuff" going on in the back is pulling and making it stretch to a bigger waist. I think

I'll put in a draw string to help with the weight support and that should solve the problem.

I really appreciate your incredible promptness and getting it to me. I will let my mother know about

I want to tell you that the bustles you made me are awesome! What an incredible difference they make in displaying an antique gown...Wow! I wish I would have taken before-and-after pictures for you. Your bustles are easy to work with and ajust to the different size and style bustles. Personally, I think you should also list these under antique dresses (vintage,womens clothing,victorian) as reproduction bustles for displays. They're clean and adjustable which is very important when trying to display antique gowns.
